A lot of people are surprised when they find out just how large and successful AutoNation is.   We're the largest automotive retailer in the country -- in fact, we may be the largest automotive retailer in the history of the industry -- but more people know us by our brands than by anything else. 

That's not such a bad thing either.  We're proud to have many of the country's most well-loved and well-know regional retailers in our network of dealerships - more than 220 stores across 15 states.  These are names like Champion in Texas, Power in Southern California and Maroone in South Florida, local experts who offer an unbeatable combination of pricing, service and selection that keeps customers coming back for vehicle after vehicle.  That loyalty-driven approach to sales and service is the key behind us selling more vehicles than anybody since cars started rolling off assembly lines a hundred years ago.

How many vehicles would that be?  8 Million and counting.  It's a feat no other retailer has come close to.  In fact, there isn't a retailer out there today likely to break the five million mark in the next decade, let along come close to catching up.  The fact is, AutoNation is the single most successful automotive retail operation in existence, and we're continually recognized and honored for that accomplishment.

Consider that AutoNation is the only automotive retailer to be chosen as a member of the S&P 500 index.  We've been named by Fortune Magazine as the America's most admired automotive retailer in the country for five of the past seven years - and that's an honor voted on by our peers, so it's a particulary special distiction for us.  And we regularly place high on the Fortune 500 list of America's largest companies in any industry, which shows you what $14 billion a year in sales can do!

It's not just sales, either.  AutoNation services millions and millions of cars every year - so much so, in fact, that even if we never sold a single vehicle, we'd be one of the country's automotive service businesses in operation today. 

 Size isnt the only thing that distinguishes AutoNation from the competition.  We're also the single most forward-thinking organization in the business.  Our e-vehicle program was the first of its kind to call particular attention to the most fuel efficent vehicles on offer, helping consumers choose cars and trucks that use less fuel and generate better gas mileage.  And our AutoNation Pledge promises our customers a standard-setting level of transparency, directness and accountability in vehicle financing.
